Intuition & sum mo’thangs!

Intuition: the ability to understand something immediately, without needing conscious reasoning.

What would you do if things you knew as a kid started to come true? Would you freak out, or would you keep your cool? How I live my life has continuously taken me on one uniquely tailored journey after another.  The last time I press record, I was at a point yet again where I knew some things needed to fall off, be moved around, etc, all for my new desires and manifestations that I felt coming.  It's been five months since then.... and I now know what I needed to make room for.

What I have been prepping myself for all this time.

I feel I’ve been hyper-focused on ensuring I’d be emotionally, mentally, and spiritually ready for the day I lost my mother. It’s been two months since I got the phone call about my mother’s passing. And I’m buggin’ because how she passed, is precisely how I always feared she would. She died alone. So my heart is heavy right now people.

In The Rebirth Episode, I talked about my mother's mental illness being one of the main reasons I focus heavily on self-care and mental health awareness. And today, I’m glad I’ve taken this path because I don’t know what I would’ve done with these feelings. The matriarchs in my family pass on so young—all in their mid-60s. That's too young! I have to break this chain, too.

Today is 11/22/22. It marks the second anniversary of opening my business, SHAMELESS AVE, and the moment I decided to open up and start sharing my story. Everything is connected; everything I do has meaning. Though I may not always be able to see the end goal in perfect detail, I know the feelings I have always lead me and prepare me to be ready, to be ready, to be ready for whatever.

    • A strange “knowing” that something is going to happen

    • An unexplained feeling that won’t go away and is later explained by something that occurs

    • Feeling very strong emotions toward someone or something and later understanding that those feelings were correct, and why

    • Flashes, or glimpses, of things, people, or situations that seem to come out of nowhere

    1. Meditate - When your energy is scattered, its harder to get in touch with your intuition. Intuition arises during quieter times.

    2. Take a chance on following your gut instinct - If you notice a strong instinct to do something or move away from it, try following that advice and see what develops as a result. Seeing positive outcomes after following your intuition can help reinforce that you do know what’s best for you and give you more confidence to trust your gut.

    3. Start doing daily body scans - Many of us are used to overriding the way we physically feel and just pushing through from one situation to the next. Start acknowledging the way your body feels and what it may be saying to you. Scan your body through the day and note any tension you may be holding or sensations you have (good or bad).

    4. Spend time outside - Spending time in nature is one of the simpliest ways to decompress and clear out unneccessary thoughts. It’ll help you be more aware of how blessed you are to be here, living. Be aware of what thoughts rise to the surface; it could be your intuition speaking to you.

    5. Do a technology/social media fast - Now a days theres so many distractions coming at us from all directions. Try eliminating screens and other distractions for a few hours a day. Freeing up this space could allow new messages and insights to float up from your subconscious.

    6. Ask your intuition a question - Try being direct: Write out a question you’re thinking about and then sit with it. Do any answers seem to arrive in your mind? Journal about anything that comes to you that could be a potential answer or piece of guidance. And if nothing comes up, don’t be discouraged. Sometimes just focusing on the question at all is enough to bring an answer to you later on, as you’re doing something totally unrelated.

    7. Journal - writing can be a cool way to override your conscious mind and let new things rise to the surface.

    8. Make a vision board - What does your biggest and brightest future look like?

    9. Work with Tarot Cards - If you’re coming up completely blank when you try to call up your intuition, tarot can help. Spending time with guided tarot pulls—or even just looking at each card and thinking about what comes up for you—can take you in new directions and uncover highly intuitive thoughts.

    10. Act fast! - Try not to overthink things. If you get a suggestion from your gut, try to write it down so you don’t forget it, or make a point to act promptly. If you get into a place of thinking too much about it, it can be easy to talk yourself out of the suggestion or overanalyze it and lose the feeling altogether.
